65 years ago, Tea & Coffee Company first opened its doors under the name “The Java Shop” in the heart of downtown Edmonton. It didn’t take long for The Java Shop to be known throughout the city of Edmonton for having the freshest cup of premium coffee. Along with a great atmosphere and the finest product, we were also the proud owner of the first espresso machine in Canada. This, combined with roasting our own coffee and serving it fresh, our popularity was sure to grow.

Over the years, although faces have changed, techniques have been tweaked and the focus of the business has been shifted. We are proud to say that we still hold true to the company roots. We still import our coffees direct from the worlds finest coffee growing regions, we still roast our coffees daily to ensure that they are always fresh and of superior quality and we still have a strong passion for the pursuit of the perfect cup.
